Overview

CR Tuff Pep is a 2020 sorrel American Quarter Horse stallion by Woody Be Tuff and out of ARC Catty Dual, a daughter of Dual Pep. Bred by Center Ranch in Texas, his pedigree combines influential cutting and working cow horse bloodlines through Nitas Wood, Doc Quixote, Peppy San Badger, High Brow Cat and Smart Little Lena. His sire, Woody Be Tuff, is an accomplished cutting performer and established performance sire, while his dam, ARC Catty Dual, earned US$168,762 in cutting competition, including the PCCHA Open Futurity Championship. CR Tuff Pep has earned US$97,910 in reported lifetime earnings, establishing a successful competitive record in breakaway roping and tie-down roping. His four-year-old season was particularly productive, highlighted by Reserve Championships in the Old West ARHFA Judged All-Age Open Breakaway Roping, Gold Buckle Spring Judged Open Breakaway Roping Futurity and Gold Buckle Fall Judged Open Tie-Down Roping Futurity. His additional achievements include a fifth-place finish in the Gold Buckle Fall Judged Open Breakaway Roping Maturity. His results earned him recognition as the QData No. 1 Leading Money-Earning Breakaway Roping Stallion and No. 2 Leading Money-Earning Tie-Down Roping Stallion, demonstrating competitive ability across two demanding roping disciplines. Entering stud in 2025, CR Tuff Pep represents a relatively young breeding prospect whose own roping achievements are supported by a pedigree rich in established cutting and cow horse genetics. His combination of competitive success, athleticism and proven maternal performance offers breeders an interesting cross of traditional cow horse bloodlines and modern roping performance. CR Tuff Pep is owned by Nick Travaglia and stands at Four Sixes Ranch in Texas, where transported cooled and frozen semen are advertised as available.
