El Rey Hidas was used as a ranch horse at King Ranch prior to entering stud and does not have a recorded sanctioned competition record. His pedigree combines King Ranch racing and working bloodlines through his sire Taquito Sugar — a son of CJ Sugar and half brother to Colonel Freckles — and his dam line through Haidas Little Pep, NCHA Open Futurity Reserve Champion and sire of 630 money-earners with progeny earnings of $9,896,504. His first foals became eligible to compete as three-year-olds in 2022, with El Rey Bandito recorded as a reined cow horse money-earner from his initial crop, and 19 foals age three and over as of 2025.
