Metallic Cat, known informally as "Denver," is a red roan son of High Brow Cat out of Chers Shadow (by Peptoboonsmal), bred by Fults Ranch Ltd of Amarillo, Texas. He competed under trainer Beau Galyean, making just 12 trips to the show pen — never missing a finals and never losing a cow — to earn $637,711 in NCHA lifetime earnings. His show career culminated in the 2008 NCHA Open Futurity Championship and the 2009 NCHA Horse of the Year title. He was inducted into the NCHA Hall of Fame in 2010. Owned since 2017 by Bobby Patton's Rocking P Ranch of Weatherford, Texas, Metallic Cat stands at Brazos Valley Stallion Station. His offspring compete across cutting, reined cow horse, reining, roping, ranch versatility, and barrel racing. His EquiStat offspring earnings stand at $84,010,069. He holds the position of QData's #1 Leading Cutting and Reined Cow Horse Sire, as well as the NCHA and NRCHA's number one leading sire. He became the NRCHA's #1 All-Time Leading Sire in 2021, surpassing Shining Spark who had held the title for 17 years. His sire influence extends into the next generation through sons including Stevie Rey Von, Metallic Rebel, and Hashtags, each of whom have become leading sires in their own right.
