Once In A Blu Boon is a 2008 roan American Quarter Horse stallion (AQHA 5392297) by Peptoboonsmal and out of Autumn Boon, a daughter of Dual Pep. His pedigree brings together two influential cutting horse bloodlines, with Royal Blue Boon appearing as the dam of both Peptoboonsmal and Autumn Boon, creating a close concentration of this important maternal family. His sire, Peptoboonsmal, is one of the most influential breeding stallions in modern cutting, while his dam, Autumn Boon, was an accomplished cutting competitor and successful producer. Through these bloodlines, Once In A Blu Boon combines the influence of Peppy San Badger, Dual Pep, Boon Bar and Doc Bar, with a pedigree firmly established in elite cutting horse breeding. Once In A Blu Boon has developed into a leading sire across multiple western performance disciplines, particularly cutting and reined cow horse. His offspring have earned more than US$17.4 million in reported performance earnings, including NCHA and NRCHA Open Futurity Champions. His breeding record has established him among the prominent contemporary sires of western performance horses, with progeny demonstrating success in both specialised cutting competition and the broader demands of reined cow horse events.
