Tanquery Gin established a competitive record in cutting, earning US$15,199 in reported lifetime performance earnings and six AQHA cutting points. His principal competitive achievement was reaching the finals of the NCHA Open Futurity, one of the sport's most prestigious events. He also earned the NCHA Certificate of Ability, recognising his performance in NCHA-sanctioned cutting competition. Although his individual competition record was relatively modest compared with the earnings of later cutting champions, his achievements provided a foundation for his subsequent breeding career. Tanquery Gin ultimately became more influential as a breeding sire with his offspring achieving considerably greater collective success in cutting and other Quarter Horse performance disciplines.
