Walla Walla Whiz compiled an outstanding reining career, earning US$187,820 in NRHA competition and establishing himself as one of the elite Open horses of his generation. Campaigned throughout his futurity and derby years, he consistently reached the finals of the sport's most prestigious events before capturing multiple major Open Derby championships. His breakthrough came as a 2006 NRHA Open Futurity Finalist and Dixie RHA Dorminy Plantation Open Futurity Reserve Champion, followed by an exceptional 2007 season in which he was crowned NRHA Open Derby Champion and finished 3rd in the NRBC Open Derby. He continued that form in 2008 by winning the Shadow Oak Reining Open Derby and claiming Reserve Champion honours at the Wimpys Little Step Reining Open Derby. Across three consecutive aged-event seasons, Walla Walla Whiz demonstrated remarkable consistency at the highest level of reining, combining futurity success with multiple derby championships.
